Connie Kaiser Family Fund

On May 17, 2019 my mom Connie Kaiser was admitted into St. Joseph’s hospital. After spending 10 days there, she was given the diagnosis of encephalopathy and is showing early signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s. On the 27th my mom was abruptly transferred into a care facility; however, her insurance and prescription information were not properly handled. After spending two days there she was released into the care of my dad and I. My mom is currently staying with us under the care of my dad while I work my full-time job as a behavioral therapist. My income does not support my family much less our house. We are currently in the process of getting state care and services for my mom. However, due to the hospital’s lack of communication and cooperation we are not receiving the proper documentation to move forward with my mom’s care.

My mother was in charge of the household finances and before her hospitalization she did not give us access to the bank accounts so we are unable to pay the bills. We are behind on house, credit card, water, power, phone, and gas payments but are unaware of the amount. My dad and I are beginning to accrue debt as we try caring for her while struggling to meet our own basic needs such as food and gas.

My mother began working at the young age of 14 moving out of the house by 16. She supported herself while getting her bachelors and master’s degree in psychology. She later went on to become an escrow agent and was awarded with outstanding performance at her company. After leaving that company my mother went on to a different agency, Mara Escrow, and because of her outgoing personality and hardworking nature her clients followed her. There she stayed for more than two decades. In late 2018, Mara Escrow closed leaving my mom out of work. Due to her reputation in the escrow industry she was quickly offered another job. But by this point my mom was spiraling into a deep depression. She turned to alcohol which eventually led to her hospitalization.

My mom was a brilliant and kindhearted woman. She put me through private school and helped me through college always making sure that I was taken care of. She also supported my dad during his drug rehabilitation. My mother is a caring and loving individual who deserves more than what my dad and I can offer. The amount that we’re asking for is $50,000 that will go to:

-Mom’s care (medical bills, rehabilitation, in home-nurse, medical equipment to make the house wheelchair accessible)
-Keeping the house (mortgage payments, water and electric bills)
-Reducing debt
-daily living expenses (food and gas)

Any donation is greatly appreciated as it will help everyone in the Kaiser family get back on our feet and move forward.
