Hi my name is Connie and I would really like to continue on the coaching pathway for England Ice Hockey.
Last season, I was registered as a foundation coach working with the Chelmsford Womens Ice Hockey Club's Learn to Play Programme and the Adders Team. I also assist the Chelmsford Ice Hockey Academy under 16 girls' team (which I aged out of last season) This year I was lucky enough to be invited to be a part of the Women's National Finals Weekend for the Under 16 girls Team and worked alongside some amazing coaches as the girls won the National Finals. It has really built my appetite for coaching, and I want to do more.
I didn't start ice hockey until I was 10 years old which was considered "too late" at the time. Thanks to help from my family and some great coaches, I was lucky enough to travel around and to gain significant development opportunities, which allowed me to go on and represent my country as well as play for some great teams.
I still love to play and want to keep developing myself both as a player and as a coach. I love to help younger players (particularly female players) allowing them to recognise that it is never too late to put on a pair of ice hockey skates and start to play Ice hockey. Female players have years to reach their full potential and often it's just confidence that holds them back. As a growing coach and an IHUK referee, I want to build confidence in players as much as Ice Hockey skills, and do this in the sport that I continue to develop myself in too.
Thats why I have created this page. I am 17 years old, still in education completing my A levels in media, politics and business. I am also learning to drive. The money I earn from my part time job needs to continue to cover my driving lessons. it's really difficult to self-fund the training I need to continue on my coaching pathway. The level one coaching course is £175 and the Safeguarding course is £25. If there are any funds left over, I will put these towards the new skates I need for coaching and playing next season.
I am therefore asking for donations to help me reach my goals, if anyone can give just the smallest amount to help me I will be extremely grateful.
Thank you
