At the start of August my mother went to the emergency room thinking she just had a simple stomach infection. She was shortly flown up to Reno because her problems were a lot more serious than expected. She ended up having to get emergency surgery on her colon. During this surgery the line connecting the kidney to the bladder was cut, causing extra internal problems. The first attempt to fix this was unsuccessful and left a hematoma on her kidney. On September 19th my mom was finally cleared to leave the hospital. However, the kidney line was still not healed and caused her to get an infection. She was flown back to Reno after being home for only a few days. On October 7th she was cleared to leave the hospital. A few hours after leaving the hospital she was resting in a hotel room when she went into cardiac arrest. She has been in the cardio icu since.

In the duration of this time my father has had to drive back in fourth from Bishop CA to Reno NV, stay in hotels or with friends when possible. The cost has taken a hard toll on my parents finances. The cost of one week alone has added up to around $1,000. My mother still has a long road ahead of her if all goes well. She still has to have another colon surgery in a few months. All these medical expenses might not all get covered. All funds will go to support my parents in this very difficult time.
