Conner's Service Dog- Kai

Hey, my name is Conner Nelson. In 2022, I was diagnosed with neurotransmitter system dysregulation. A service dog was considered a good option during my treatment. I will be doing a lot of the training by myself, but the primary service dog training with be conducted along with NC Elite Dog Training.

I have purchased a Bernedoodle. He was born on June 25th. I will raise him from a puppy. Because of the amount of time to train Kai, I will be limiting my work hours and taking time away from college. Kai will be trained in different tasks to help with my needs. Some tasks being considered are deep pressure therapy, excuse to leave, block/circle, and alert to anxiety/hallucinations. These tasks will be decided after his initial good citizenship training and according to my needs at that time.

The start-up cost of purchasing Kai, his supplies, and his initial training will be around $15,000. It is not unusual to pay $30,000-$50,000 to fully purchase a service dog. By purchasing Kai, doing all initial training, and working with a local trainer ourselves, we have cut down the cost considerably. If you would like to contribute, it is greatly appreciated. If you cannot, it is ok. Just knowing that family and friends support me has been beneficial.
