Connecting for Hector's New House!

Hello Medano Beach Cabo Friends of 'Hector the Connector'!

We have started a GoFundMe campaign to help Hector and his family complete their dream of owning a home in Cabo!

Most of you have known Hector 'The Connector' Coreas for many years, but for those who have not, here is a little bit of his story of struggle, hope, sobriety, change, and giving that makes us all proud to know him and consider him a good and loyal friend.

Hector moved to Cabo from San Salvador in 2007 and started 'connecting' on Medano Beach, but his personal challenges with drugs & alcohol limited his opportunities for many, many years. Still, something about Hector's personality, hard work & determination let people like us see the potential and kind spirit he had inside. And finally, four years ago, Hector's light began to shine more brightly as he became clean & sober for the first time and has remained sober since then! A great accomplishment for sure.

But Hector not only embraced his own sobriety, but his giving spirit and care for others led him to help & coach many others who struggle with drugs & alcohol to join him in becoming clean & sober. Even through the COVID years, Hector not only stayed sober (& big thanks to his Medano Beach employer for standing by him and his co-workers during that difficult time), but he continued to help others. And not only that - He and his partner Rosa had a beautiful baby Edwardo! Belem (10) and Aratani (5) complete the 'Connector' family, and all are dreaming of finally moving into a home they can call their own.

We want to help them do just that! Hector did not (and would not) ask for any help from anyone for this, and that is another reason we are doing it. Hector is very proud of his accomplishments (as he should be), and honestly, when he told us he had a piece of property & was building a new house, our expectations did not match what we saw on our trip to the construction site. We were very impressed with the work done so far and his vision of the project.

All of us who vacation in and/or live in Cabo are very fortunate for many reasons. We've started this fundraiser to share some of that with someone we feel deserves a hand up! As most of you know, there is a lot that needs to go into making this a safe, secure and welcoming home. We think the $10,000 goal we have set, along with Hector's hard work & savings, will get this family in the home soon!
