Connecticut Junior Rangers 2012 Quebec Hockey Journey
Don protégé
Dear Family and Friends,
We are the Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2012 Elite hockey team and this February, we are proud and excited to share that we will be competing in the prestigious 65th Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament.
For over 60 years, 12-year-old hockey players from all over the globe have convened in the city to battle it out for what has colloquially been referred to as “The Pee-Wee World Championships.” The tournament takes place at the Videotron Center, with a capacity of 18,000 fans. These young players have repeatedly called this tournament a “once in a lifetime experience,” often playing in front of more than 10,000 people and televised for all to see. The tournament is annually attended by over 2,000 competitors from over 40 countries and takes place during the Quebec City Winter Carnival, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year as the largest winter festival in the Western Hemisphere. Over 1,200 past participants have gone on to play in the NHL. The tournament is about more than hockey, however; it is an opportunity to be immersed in French-Canadian culture, touring such historic landmarks as Old Quebec and the Citadelle of Quebec. It is about meeting, competing against, and forging friendships with players from all over the world who share the same passion. It celebrates the spirit of youth hockey and contributes to the rich tradition of the sport in Quebec and beyond. Memories of time spent in Quebec are recounted, even many, many years later, through the excitement of a 12-year-old's eyes.
This February, we will take to the ice for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase our skills, represent our community, and compete against some of the best young players in the world from over 15 different countries. This experience will not only help us grow as hockey players but also as individuals, fostering lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.
We need your help. Participating in the Quebec Tournament is a significant financial undertaking. We need to cover costs associated with tournament fees, uniforms, travel, and meals. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to achieving our goal.
Here’s how you can support our team:
Donate: Your financial support will help us cover the costs associated with the tournament. No amount is too small, and every dollar counts.
Share: Please share our GoFundMe page with your friends, family, and social networks. Spreading the word can make a huge difference.
We are eager to represent our local hockey community and our country. Your generosity will help us chase our dream and serve as a testament to the power of a supportive community. Thank you for considering our cause, and together, let’s make this dream a reality.
Thank you for your support!
