Dear Friends,

With hearts full of gratitude, we share a remarkable milestone in the journey of the Indian Orthodox Church in Ireland. By God’s boundless grace — and through the prayers and support of faithful believers — we have been blessed to purchase and consecrate St. Kuriakose Indian Orthodox Church, in Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary.

What was once a closed and silent building has been transformed once again into a living house of prayer — a sacred space where faith, tradition, and community come alive.

This former Franciscan Friary Church has long stood as a beacon of hope in Carrick-on-Suir. Many still treasure their childhood memories of worshipping here with parents and grandparents. When its spiritual services ceased on April 15, 2006, it marked the end of an era — but not the end of God’s plan.

After 18 years, 7 months, and 7 days, the Lord restored His sanctuary. On November 22–23, 2024, this holy church was consecrated and rededicated to God’s glory. The altar and premises now stand beautifully renewed — a living testimony of divine grace and unwavering faith.

We firmly believe this revival was made possible only by the mercy of God and through the fervent prayers and tears of the former Franciscan priests, the departed souls, and the faithful of the neighbouring communities.

As Scripture reminds us in Psalm 127:1,

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.”

We have sought to honour the sacred legacy of this friary — located 139 km from Dublin Airport — by transforming it into a home of prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth for generations to come.

With this great blessing comes great responsibility. There are still loans to repay, essential maintenance projects to complete, and operational expenses to sustain the daily life of our parish.
