CONJOLA FIRE FAMILY IN NEED

It’s with a heavy heart I sit here and write this. Our names are Jo & Hayley, residents of 24 years to the South Coast of NSW. As I’m sure you are all well aware of the current fires burning in majority of NSW including our small town - Conjola Park. Our small community was hit hard with the Currawong fire Yesterday, which has now claimed our house along with a life time of belongings & our two darling rescue cats, Frankie & Pickle. ( may they Rest In Peace ) I’m a single mum to a 4 month old little boy that has recently moved back into our family home with my beautiful mother Jo aka G’ma. Although we just managed to get out and become safe in time the fire roared through our house,we now start the long grieving process of starting from nothing. We currently sit in a safe location with just one suitcase I was able to quickly pack in 10 minutes before fleeing as the flames fast approached. The suitcase just includes the bare minimum essentials. We have just received news from our bank that the man that unfortunately identifies as my father has not paid the house insurance for the past 3 years. Therefore from this freak accident we can not reap one single dollar to help us re build. The news came at a complete and utter shock as we had been given word from him that the insurance was currently up to date. Unfortunately the insurance company claims otherwise. So we sit here and pray for a miracle, a miracle that seems so far from where we currently sit. With no plan A we sit here and beg complete strangers for help. Help us to restart our lives, help us rebuild a place we can call home, help us get through such a tough time & most importantly help us restore some normality in our lives. This is going to be a long process and not the way I thought I’d end such a beautiful year I had becoming a first time mother. Our hearts hurt, yet we are grateful we are safe. We also feel for the other 80+ houses in our tiny community that lost everything. So please, I ask & pray for the help the three of us need for the fresh start we so desperately need.
