As many of you know, 7 days after my final chemo, on November 4th Jim fell off our roof. Over the last six months he has undergone countless limb salvage surgeries and procedures. After a 95+ days stay at Cooper Hospital, Jim underwent amputation of his left leg and is now home recovering.
After 180 days, Jim's employer let him go and we will be losing our Health insurance effective May 31st.
We're still in the early stages, he has a long recovery ahead but will need a prosthesis in the near future. The out of pocket is roughly $6000. Cobra is roughly 1500 a month which is about the same for his insulin, not to mention my chemo and daily meds.
People often wonder why there's no savings when emergencies arise...Well, I have been battling Breast Cancer Since 2019. I'm still in active treatment, still need another mascectomy and I will continue to take oral chemo for the next 10 years. Jim has done everything in his power to not let me suffer. Now it's my turn.
Our Family and Friends at the National Park Boat Club will hold a benefit for him on Saturday September 18th, 2021
We are in the early stages of the benefit and will keep updating as it gets closer. Please save the date..For those of you that requested, We have a Go Fund Me, and for those that can come out, please do, so we can thank you all in person for the continued love and prayers you've shown us during my journey and now his. My family and I truly appreciate every single one of you, and hope to one day be able to pay it forward.
