"As the fifth year of war begins, the resulting displacement, hunger and disease have made Yemen the worst humanitarian crisis on earth [...] more than 1.3 million Yemenis have been infected with cholera – 2,300 of whom have died as a result. It is the worst cholera outbreak in history" - CARE.org
My name is Ahmed, also known as VemodalenMedia, and this year I willbe conducting an Eid inspired shoot that will be launching on Eid 2019. The theme is 'Eid + Unity', wherein all the models have come together to raise awareness on the conflict in Yemen.
We will be travelling to Newcastle for the shoot, however the purpose is to bring people with different skillsets, and diverse backgrounds to come together to raise funds for the Yemen Emergency Appeal.
Help us, help them. Let us all raise awareness and donate this Ramadan to protect our brothers and sisters who are suffering at the hands of despots.
Since 2011, the Shia Muslim minority community in Yemen, also known as the Houthi community, have been facing trials and tribulations under the hands of the House of Saud (Saudi Arabia).
Saudi Arabia’s government has been condemned by the UN because of their violent acts of terrorism against the Shia community including a tight blockade of humanitarian aid, leaving Yemen to experience the worst man-made humanitarian crisis the world has ever seen.
According to BBC, about 65% of deaths are due to Saudi-led air strikes in the Houthi community. Due to the malicious and un-Islamic acts of Saudi Arabia and US-backed airstrikes (that is still ongoing), 80% of Yemen’s population (24 million) are facing catastrophic levels of famine and in desperate need of our aid.
This is an anti-colonial, anti-imperial and anti-extremist campaign. We stand in solidarity with those who are fighting for their right to exist and being slain unjustly at the hands of a wicked regime.
It is not a crime to love the beloved people of the Prophets Household (peace be upon them)
Please donate to this campaign, as proceeds will be going directly to the Yemen Emergency Appeal campaign, run by CARE.org
