CNAs have perhaps the most physically and emotionally demanding scope of practice in long-term care. Yet, far too often, these essential caregivers earn a modest wage and have difficulty making ends meet. Add in frequent and frustrating daily staffing challenges and it is easy to see why these noble humanitarians burn out and leave the profession.
 
The National Association of Health Care and Assistants (NAHCA) and The Academy of Certified Health Professionals (ACHP) have long understood the power of positive reinforcement and recognition.  The Academy of Certified Health Professionals, Inc., a 501 (c)(3), was established in 2006 specifically to gather resources to promote professional growth of CNAs, enhance the quality of their lives and improve the care they deliver.

Each year, ACHP and NAHCA sponsor a national conference that offers training, camaraderie and inspiration, along with the Key to Quality Awards Banquet.  At the Banquet, we honor some of the nation’s top caregivers with awards in 23 distinct service categories.

The conference and Awards ceremony are typically held in a Midwestern US location, minimizing travel distance and cost, to make it easier for our members to participate.  This year, we quite literally want to go the extra mile and bring our members, teams and honorees to Washington, D.C.


It will be an extraordinary experience for some of our CNAs who have never traveled outside their home community or flown on an airplane.  They will experience 12 hours of dynamic education, countless opportunities for networking, and activities that will motivate and inspire them to reconnect with their passion for the profession. They’ll do all this with plenty of time still available to see and experience our nation’s capitol.

As powerful as this extraordinary adventure will be, it will also be far more expensive.  To ensure as many members as possible enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we are launching this scholarship campaign.
