ConEdison's Manhattan Electric Operations "Staying Connected" Employee Fundraising Campaign
Back to School 2020: Helping at-risk children stay connected with their classmates and loved ones.
In an effort to help at-risk children at The Children's Village stay connected with their loved ones and support system, as well as prepare for the upcoming Fall 2020 school year, the employees of Manhattan Electric Operations (MEO) are launching the "Staying Connected" employee fundraising campaign during the month of July, where gently used tablets/laptops will be collected as well as financial contributions via this GoFundMe page to help support remote learning.
Whether it is an in-kind and/or financial donation we kindly ask for your collective participation in MEO's corporate citizenship effort.
Thank you for supporting the youth and families at The Children's Village!
In solidarity of actively helping those in need, the employees of Manhattan Electric Operations have identified The Children’s Village, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization that partners “with families to help society’s most vulnerable children so that they become educationally proficient, economically productive, and socially responsible members of their communities” as a noble organization to support.
The Children’s Village serves as a haven for at-risk children by providing runaway shelters, foster homes, shelters for unaccompanied migrant children as well as services for families supporting children with serious emotional or medical issues. Sadly, many of the caretakers of these children are either struggling financially due to loss of employment, have fallen ill or lost their lives as a result of COVID-19. Last year, The Children’s Village helped 8,120 children and their families.
