Condolence Gift for Imran's Family

Donation protected
Sad news: Imran, just after his 41st birthday, passed away battling cancer on March 17. With Shahadah on his lips and sorrounded by loved ones, Imran's soul met the Creator. He was a wonderful human being whose bone marrow recipients will vouch for his generosity. He was the co producer of the popular documentary "American Ramadan"  which was an effort of great inter faith work in present times.

About this campaign: My name is Sana Hamid. I am a DFW resident. I met Imran and his family in 2012 after we moved into their apartment complex. His wife, Nikhat Qureshi, and I became close friends instantly and our boys formed a brotherly bond. I saw little Yusuf riding bikes, swimming and playing with his dad all the time. After Imran's passing, my friends and I decided to start this campaign. I was so humbled when I called Imran's family and all they asked for were prayers. The purpose of this campaign is to send out our love and support to the family.

About the photograph: This is Imran's favorite photograph captured by our mutual friend Farah Janjua. I wanted to share what Farah wrote about Imran:
"Inna Lillah hai wa inna ilahi rajaioon (To Allah we belong and to Him we return).
Last evening we said good bye to our dear friend Imran. He lost his five months long battle against Renal Cancer, after fighting a brave fight. He was a good man and a wonderful husband but above all, he was one of the most passionate fathers I've ever met. The way he adored his only son Yusuf can not be described in words. That's why my heart breaks even more about his passing, because I know how much his son will miss his father's presence in his life growing up! I pray Allah's Nur greets Imran at the doorway to Heaven and I pray Yusuf continues to grow into an amazing human being with his father's memories and all the great things he taught him.
I took these photographs a little over a year ago, right before Imran left for Canada, where he was born and raised. Being a passionate outdoor person, he had decided to raise his son in Vancouver, where he could go hiking, biking and camping with him and enjoy the natural life. This was also the last day I saw Imran. I'm grateful to God for having chosen me to preserve these memories of Imran with Yusuf. I hope it will be a lifelong reminder for Yusuf of how much his father adored him!
Please say a prayer for our dear friend! Please also say a prayer for his wife Nikhat, who took care of him like no one else and for our sweet Yusuf to be able to bear one of the greatest losses a nine year old can ever experience! My heart tells me he will grow up to be an amazing human being, just like his amazing parents! May they all reunite in the shades of Heaven! Ameen."

Update: Imran's family is extremely grateful for your generous contributions. The funds have been set up to be drawn by yusuf's aunt Nauren Qureshi.
