Concrete medical aid for Ukrainian children
Donation protected
Mr Delykatnyi is a Ukrainian pediatric cardiac surgeon. He came to our attention as part of our student contact group of the International Affairs Master's program at Columbia University in New York City. Since a bombing raid on Kiev, his special glasses for surgery (Exam Vision Kepler compact) have gone missing. These glasses are currently not available in Ukraine due to local conditions. Such glasses would enable him to be able to work again and to alleviate suffering on site.
This is a possibility to help in a concrete and measurable way. The aid in purchase enables further help for on the ground and is in a gap of the current bilateral humanitarian aid. The additionality consists in this case because these comparatively expensive special devices are basically not distributed by hospitals and, in addition, require an individual adjustment. In Germany, these glasses can be obtained from a supplier in Berlin; we have obtained all the necessary measurements of his eyes for the measurement and a supply chain already exists via Berlin to Warsaw and on to Lviv. The cost of the glasses is about 3500 EUR. Of course, we are committed to complete transparency, documentation and reliability.
These are currently times when everyone with a responsible conscience can make a contribution against unbearable inhumanity.
In addressing you, I appeal to your pragmatism and drive for positive change. Thank you for being part of the solution.
