‘Concerto’ is an independent student film Written, Produced and Directed by Vama Gathani and Aryan R. Khatri.

We are thrilled to embark on a heartfelt cinematic journey with our upcoming short film, “Concerto”. This poignant story follows Aaliyah, a grieving composer who, after her husband’s passing, grapples with the depths of her own feelings. As she navigates through sorrow and creative block, an unexpected connection helps her find artistic rejuvenation and emotional healing. Your support will enable us to capture the raw emotions and transformative power of this story, creating a film that resonates with audiences. Join us in bringing "Concerto" to the screen, where the universal themes of grief, connection, and artistic rejuvenation will inspire.

In order for us to make this film, we, along with our amazing crew are requesting donations, any amount is greatly appreciated. This will be incorporated into our budget and therefore help us carry out a smooth production and better our Production Design, attain the required equipment and props, secure filming locations and ensure making a beautiful film with few compromises. Meet the team!


Aryan Khatri: Co-Director/Producer

Aryan R. Khatri is an emergent Director and Producer who fell in love with cinema at an early age. His academic excellence at Syracuse University and Emerson College is paralleled by a portfolio that includes leading ideation for successful children's films, producing highly viewed shows, and creating impactful short films. His work, recognized in film competitions and through significant internships, demonstrates a profound ability to blend creative vision with practical experience.

Vama Gathani: Co-Director/DOP/Writer

Vama Gathani is a Writer, Director and DOP at Emerson College. She has carried out several roles within various productions in the past couple of years including and not limited to creating her own short films "Touch" and "Tempo", while also being involved as a Gaffer, Writer, Director, DOP, AD, PD, etc. in various other films. Gathani aims to be a part of various creative projects, and continues to express herself through her writing.

Zaid Sater: Executive Producer

Zaid Sater is an award-winning filmmaker from Dubai and a current senior studying Visual and Media Arts (VMA) at Emerson College. His short films, "Desolation" and "Puppy Love," have received awards from numerous film festivals. He is currently executive producing an independent film titled "The Man Who Mastered Time."

Rachel Chu: Executive Producer

Rachel Lorelle Chu is a junior writer at Emerson College and is from Hong Kong. She has carried out several roles within various productions during her time at Emerson, including executively producing and head writing for “Culture Shock” (2023-2024), marketing and graphic designing for “When You Get Home” BA (2024), script supervising for “All My Stars Aligned” BFA (2023), and production designing for “Batgirl: One Good Deed” BFA (2023) and “Charlesgate” BA (2023). She is currently in the process of directing and writing her first short film, “Grace”.

Vir Srinivas: Executive Producer

Vir is an exceptional young Writer, Producer and Director. His debut feature, “Orders from Above”, won numerous awards internationally, and was released on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu and more. His screenplays have also garnered acclaim and won prestigious competitions, securing top prizes at the Fade In Awards and the Final Draft Big Break® Screenwriting Contest.

Elisa Davidson: Executive Producer

Elisa Davidson is a Senior Creative Writing major with a passion for film. A violin player and frequent on-set presence, Davidson aims to be a part of creating moving and thought provoking works.
