For the next two months, the mission of the Villazul–ANARE Resilience Camp is to give children back something the earthquake took away: a sense of safety and the structure they need to rebuild their lives.

When a child knows that, every weekday at 8:30 a.m., there is a safe place waiting where they can play, learn, and spend time with other children, they begin to regain a sense of normalcy. This program helps reduce stress and creates the conditions for the brain to move beyond survival mode and resume its natural development, strengthening essential skills and abilities.

The parents who survived must now search for work and rebuild their families' livelihoods. That is why we must focus our efforts on the children who survived. We cannot leave them behind.

Durante los próximos dos meses, la misión del Campamento de Resiliencia Villazul–ANARE será devolverles a los niños algo esencial que el terremoto les arrebató: un sentido de seguridad y una estructura sobre la cual reconstruir sus vidas.

Cuando un niño sabe que, de lunes a viernes, a las 8:30 de la mañana, hay un lugar seguro esperándolo donde puede jugar, aprender y compartir con otros niños, comienza a recuperar la confianza en el día a día. Ese programa ayuda a disminuir el estrés y crea las condiciones para que el cerebro deje atrás el modo de supervivencia y retome su desarrollo natural, fortaleciendo sus habilidades y destrezas.

Los padres que sobrevivieron necesitan buscar empleo y reconstruir el sustento de sus familias. Por eso debemos concentrar nuestros esfuerzos en los niños que sobrevivieron. No podemos dejarlos desamparados.
