This morning, my dad and my uncle were unexpectedly detained by immigration at the Linden Home Depot. We haven’t been able to talk to them to know the actual story, but we know they are currently being held at the Newark detention center. The uncertainty has been overwhelming for our family, and we are still waiting for more information.

When we went to pick up my dad’s car, we saw their materials inside. I’m assuming they were buying supplies for a project they were working on at work. It was a reminder of how hardworking they are and that they were not doing any harm. Our family is doing everything we can to support them, from scheduling appointments with lawyers to making sure their immediate needs are met.

As we navigate this difficult process, we know there will be many expenses ahead. The funds raised here will go directly toward legal fees, basic needs, and anything else required to help my dad and uncle while they are in detention. Our family has come together to make the process as smooth as possible, but we can’t do it alone.

Anything will help us, and it will mean the world to us. I know my dad and uncle will be more than grateful for any support. They are the kind of people who always help others whenever they can, and now we hope our community can rally around them in their time of need. Thank you

Esta mañana, mi papá y mi tío fueron detenidos inesperadamente por inmigración en home depot de linden. No hemos podido hablar con ellos para conocer la historia real, pero sabemos que actualmente están detenidos en el centro de detención de Newark.
