Court Support For Comrade Shane!

Our comrade Shane, went to the King County Library Board Meeting to support people who wanted to speak in favor of queer events such as Teen Queer Pride and Drag Queen Story Time. Unfortunately, local anti-queer religious extremists were there and had hate group Proud Boys with them to bully and intimidate community members from speaking in favor of queer events.

Anti-queer protesters proceeded to film, harass and blatantly threaten queer folx, family members, and Drag performers during this forum, and we received several messages asking for someone to come help escort people to their cars after the event, as people didn't feel safe with Proud Boys around.

Shane showed up for the community, making sure people were safe getting home. When Proud Boys continued to try to intimidate and harass in the the parking lot and he stood up for the community, police chose to view him as the instigator. Then, in his court hearing, the judge was a white supremacists who said out loud that he "had opinions on these kinds of matters, and if it were up to him, he would make sure [Shane] went to jail". It is up to him, he's the judge.  

Court date for Shane is set for July 6th. $2500 are definitely needed, however many times there are additional hidden court fees, so we wanted to make sure all court costs are covered. At the very least lets try to make it to $2500 if we can, and help our comrade out!
