Computing power to JDL Pinball

Hello,

we are Jim and Dina Lindsay, AKA JDL Pinball.

We have been well known in our community for providing high quality Twitch streaming of major pinball events since 2016. Every two years, the highlight is streaming the IFPA World Championships when they are held in Europe. As many of you know, we try our very best to bring these events to life in the comfort of our viewer’s homes.

We have been constantly improving and upgrading our overall systems, the cost of which we mostly bear ourselves. While most of the kit doesn´t have a big price tag, it accumulates quickly. The biggest expense has always been the powerful gaming laptop to drive the stream. We didn´t have much luck with them in the past. The last two World Championships we experienced unexpected technical issues with our laptop leaving us in danger of not being able to stream anything at all!

The first time, IFPA16 in Italy, we were able to acquire another laptop quickly, just in time for the tournament. The second time was the day before EPC 2023 / IFPA18 in Germany, when Jim had to quickly drive 200 km home to pick up an alternative system. While this worked, we lost a lot of newly developed features that had been implemented to make our viewers’ experience even better. This unexpected shutdown resulted in a lot of worry and a speeding fine.

Our current computer has been in operation for 3 years and is now getting a old and not too reliable. So, for this year’s World Championships, IFP20 in Austria, we would like to ask our community to help us fund a new gaming laptop so we can better ensure everything runs smoothly and without fail.
