Buy a computer for a homeless youth in college

Donation protected
"Sam" is an 18 year old youth who in October 2017 left an abusive home and became homeless at the age of 15. He continues to reside in a homeless shelter.

The challenges of homelessness quickly took their toll and "Sam" overdosed, leaving him hospitalized and contributed to significant life challenges at such a young age.  "Sam" quickly recovered when he found refuge at Durham Region's only youth homeless shelter where he re-enrolled in school, learned life skills and established a positive path in life.  In 2019 "Sam" will be attending college in a Visual Arts program after being awarded a bursary.

The program requires that each student purchase their own computer to be able to participate in the program; in this case its a "MacBook Pro" with a specific adapter. "Sam" will not be able to complete his studies without this computer.

We are hoping to eliminate this barrier for "Sam" so he may continue with his education and continue to build a successful life for himself, with a little support from the community around him.
