Joven universitaria venezolana necesita una PC

My cousin Amaranta is an outstanding engineering student at the University Simón Bolívar in Venezuela. She needs a PC to complete her degree. Please consider supporting her. Not only because of the Venezuelan deep economic crisis, Latin American women engineers are at a disadvantage for various reasons. Supporting them to keep going is important.

This is her story: "Hello, my name is Amaranta Villegas Cisneros, I am a Computer Engineering student at the Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela. I am requesting support to obtain a new computer that will allow me to finish my degree. Due to the current economic crisis in my country, my family and I cannot afford a new laptop or another electronic equipment that allows me to continue with my studies. My old computer is in poor condition, it does not have a camera, it overheats and I must use it with a fan, it does not have a battery and therefore I cannot study with the frequent power outages we currently experience. I miss a lot of study time and it is frustrating not being able to progress in my courses. To date, this limitation had not been a problem since the facilities of the University allowed me to be up to date. However, after the pandemic hit and online learning was implemented, I have been truly restricted in continuing my training as an engineer. The biggest limitation is that my old computer does not have the necessary capacity to work effectively with the career programs and connect me to virtual classes.”

Mi prima Amaranta es una excelente estudiante de Ingeniería de la Universidad Simón Bolívar de Venezuela.
Necesita una PC para culminar su carrera.  Apóyala. No solo por la crisis económica venezolana, las mujeres ingenieras latinoamericanas están en desventaja por diversos motivos. Sostenerlas para que sigan adelante es importante. 

Esta es su historia: "Hola, mi nombre es Amaranta Villegas Cisneros, soy estudiante de Ingeniería de la Computación en la Universidad Simón Bolívar de Caracas, Venezuela. Estoy solicitando apoyo para obtener una nueva computadora que me permita culminar la carrera.

Debido a la crisis económica actual de mi país, a mi familia y a mí nos es imposible costear una laptop o cualquier equipo electrónico que me permita continuar con mis estudios. Mi antigua computadora está en condiciones precarias, no posee cámara, se recalienta y debo usarla junto a un ventilador, no cuenta con batería y, por tanto, no puedo estudiar con los frecuentes cortes de electricidad. Pierdo mucho tiempo de estudio y es frustrante no poder progresar en las materias. Antes de la pandemia esta limitación no había sido un problema, ya que las instalaciones de la Universidad me permitían estar al día. Pero con la implementación de las clases a distancia me he visto coartada en la continuación de mi formación como ingeniera.

La mayor limitación es que mi vieja computadora no tiene la capacidad necesaria para trabajar de manera eficaz con los programas de la carrera y conectarme a las clases virtuales.
