It’s been a year full of ups and downs, and although the pandemic brought live shows to a grinding halt, the silver lining to this COVID raincloud is that it’s given musicians and artists in the Detroit community an opportunity to buckle down and focus on creating.
This time has birthed some daring and inspiring work, and I’m so excited to share this recording project with you!
In March, I began composing, arranging, and recording new music with the best musicians in Detroit. Our collaborations are world-beat fusion with some classic funk grooves, DJ's and gospel choir paying homage to our Detroit heritage.
Here's one completed single I released in October titled, Blue Nile that features Detroit greats: Dave McMurray (s), Amp Fidler (p), Larry Fratangelo (perc), James Simonson (b), Ron Otis (d), DJ Head (dj)
We’ve invested hundreds of hours and thousands of our own money, which brought us to a half-way point but we need your help to get this complete body of work over the finish line.
Any donations over $500 will get you a solo guitar performance at your upcoming personal engagement and an invitation to attend a recording session to watch and hear the making-of!
All contributions—big and small— will be recognized on our Releases and would be deeply appreciated by all the incredibly talented musicians involved.
We’ve been working so hard to keep Detroit music flowing!
Not earning our own capital from live shows has made it difficult to self-fund our own projects.
Every little bit helps! Whether you can give $25 or $1,000—your donation is going directly to funding the completion of this phenomenal hometown project.
Years from now, when we look back at this difficult time, I hope this music feels like a salve. We all need a little creativity and soul to recover and making music for you and your families is how we can offer you the best we’ve got to give.
Thank you for listening, and I look forward to seeing you and making beautiful music again at your biggest and most important life events soon.
Peace~
Sean
