Hello, This is my GoFundMe campaign, my goal is $1500, to fund the completion of my certification as an end-of-life Doula. A Doula provides compassionate accompaniment and guidance throughout the end-of-life transition. Currently, I’m immersed in the Doula certification program with the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation of Central Mexico. While very intense, it’s deeply insightful and rewarding.
Throughout my career as a therapist, my focus has been to support and guide those surviving trauma, addiction, anxieties, uncertainties, and depression. With a B.A. in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Art Therapy, and a rewarding lifelong career as a therapist and counselor, I have found that working with the deeper spiritual nature of our existence to be an effective tool for healing and growth.
End-of-life Doula service is the natural progression of my work, inspiring positive and creative end-of-life practices and support for the dying and their loved ones.
The funds I am asking for, are to finance my attendance in an important conference for graduates of the Doula program this upcoming September in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Attending this conference is the final step of my education. Many respected mentors, therapists, and end-of-life Doulas will be there to share their wisdom with the newly graduated.
End-of-life Doulas bring light to the darkness, complementing medical care from hospices and hospitals. Western culture tends to avoid discussion of death. Many cultures throughout humanity’s history recognize the importance of the integral component of spiritual, mental, and emotional support in the transition to death. Doulas fill the gap in contemporary care of the dying and deceased, assisting to resolve life issues and find closure for a good death.
While hospice provides medical support, Doulas provide spiritual and emotional support, through engaging complex and difficult emotions during the dying process. The Doula is a valuable and meaningful member of the end-of-life care team, including guiding loved ones in letting go and the grieving process. Many of our elders, and persons with terminal illness, feel alone, as they confront end-of-life fears without support.
Attending this conference is very important to me. Your donation of any amount will move me closer to my goal. I am deeply grateful for your support. Thank you.
If you or a loved one have interest in end-of-life Doula services, please contact me. My doula practice will be active after September 2022.
When you make a donation of $50 or more, I will offer you an online session or introduction to SoulCollage. $200 or more, I’ll facilitate a group of your chosen people
