Hi, my name is Adrian. I devoted my life to creative writing, including completing a PhD (friends call it a ‘PhD in fairytales’) and travelling to various locations for book research, including following the course of the first crusaders through France, Turkey, and to the Holy Sepulchre. In short, I have been dedicated.
I have a literary agent supporting me. A particular completed manuscript, ‘Marya’s Train’, has caught the interest of further people in the industry. A final edit is required. Depression and a diagnosis of terminal cancer have stopped the dream in its tracks, and a crisis of self belief has further impeded the completion of my life’s dream. A life spent in writing now feels wasted; this is the last chance for professional publication and a life of meaning as I approach the inevitable moment when a scan result will tell me that the cancer, made relatively stable by immunotherapy, is bringing me to my final days.
A highly regarded editor is ready to edit the manuscript provided by my agent. A large amount of the editor’s fee has already been acquired; a final amount is needed so the editing can begin and the book can be published. The editor has worked on several award winning books.
I have terminal cancer which has cut my dreams short. I have dedicated my life to literary writing. A final donation towards editor’s fees and professional publication may allow me to look back at a life lived with meaning.
I used my superannuation to buy my grave and pay for my funeral. I have been unable to work for years due to my illness and I live on a disability pension. Without support I cannot afford to do this, and any contribution would make a massive difference. We are so close.
