This year has been one of the hardest of our lives. My mom lost her husband - her best friend, partner, and the love of her life. He was a kindhearted man with a gift for working with his hands. As a carpenter, he poured his heart into creating a warm, welcoming home for my mom.

One of his last big projects was the kitchen. He dreamed of giving her a space where she could cook, gather with family, and make memories. He had already gutted the old kitchen and began preparing it for the new one, but before he could finish, he passed away unexpectedly.

Now my mom is left with not only the grief of losing him, but also a kitchen that's in pieces

— bare walls, unfinished floors, and no working space to prepare meals. We want to honor his dream by completing the kitchen he started, but the costs are more than we can manage on our own.
