My name is Saif Malik, and for the past month I have been in the Philippines working on a humanitarian project to help the less fortunate by building a library for local children and families. During my time here, I was blessed to connect with a small Muslim community that is doing its best to provide Islamic education despite very limited resources.

This community is currently working on a madrasah project, but unfortunately the project has been put on hold due to a lack of funds. The madrasah is in urgent need of several essential upgrades so that students can learn in a safe, dignified, and supportive environment.

The most pressing needs include:

• Renovation of the wudu (ablution) area

• Installation of proper windows and doors

• Construction of a second floor so students have a place to stay overnight

(they are currently sleeping inside the mosque due to lack of space)

• Bookshelves and educational materials

• Additional basic facilities needed to complete the madrasah

These improvements are not luxuries—they are necessities. The students rely on this madrasah for their Islamic and general education, and having proper facilities will greatly improve their learning conditions, safety, and overall well-being.

Your support, no matter how small, will directly help restart and complete this project and will make a lasting impact on the lives of these students and their community.

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed that grows seven ears, each bearing a hundred grains. Allah multiplies for whom He wills.” (Qur’an 2:261)

Giving in charity does not decrease your wealth—it only increases your akhirah.
