Hi, My name is Charlie Callahan, mixed media artist, woodworker, installation artist, photographer and writer. I am fundraising for a few related reasons.
- With sudden shifts in housing opportunities, I need to relocate my art studio and place to live to be closer between the coast and Los Angeles, Ca. for better exposure and interconnectedness to other artists on career paths. This funding will be used to direct my art to a wider audience within creative communities.
- The second reason is to complete and publish an art book in the making as a reflection of others recognizing patterns and antidotes to ancestral traumas that will eventually be available through my website, so I will keep you posted on launch dates.
- Lastly, having spent a great deal of income in a bereavement process in 2022 for the loss of my father who tragically ended his suffering from a car accident two years prior, I dove into writing to cope and to make sense of the situation which has fueled some traveling including a drive across country to Ohio where his reception was held. Among other journeys that have inspired a book, I have documented topics around capitalism, ecotourism, and art communities in the year of searching deeper into mental health antidotes. I also write about our correlation honoring our cousins of the sea as related to my art.
I am asking for financial assistance not only to make up for the time put into this book but also to relocate my work studio and home. If you could please forward this fundraiser to others and check out the "new products" section of my website, I am launching new prints and paintings for sale.
