COMPETING FOR ENGLAND
Donation protected
Hi everyone, great to see you here.
I’m Elaine Jackson and at age of 52 I’ve been invited to represent ENGLAND at the Commonwealth Championships Powerlifting championships held in Auckland, New Zealand between 28th November and 4th December 2022.
As a little girl, I would sit watching the Olympics and Commonwealth Games with my mother, father, sister, and brother dreaming about competing and now I get the opportunity to see that little girl’s dreams come true!
I would sit – all those years ago - transfixed at the amazing talent, skill and dedication beaming out of my TV screen - the energy in my family’s living room would be electric as we gazed upon these heroic feats of strength.
After a tough year of endless training and strict regimes, my dreams really have come true…
I won GOLD for Great Britain at my first International Championships at the European Bench Press Championships held in Budapest in August!
With the help of my coach at my side - Sophia Ellis (also on Team GB) – representing my country at The Commonwealth Championships is a dream come true.
As an amateur athlete, I need as much support as possible to get to the Commonwealth Championships.
Powerlifting is one of the many sports that are self-funded (self-funding means travel costs, accommodation, and everything else) so I need to raise at least £5,500 to make my dreams come true and bring back a medal for England.
If you can contribute or sponsor me, I would really appreciate it, your help will help me and this fantastically inclusive and diverse sport.
I’d appreciate you donating what you can and sharing my story.
Please do catch up on my training on Instagram @ cocobuttergirl
