Compete at the Cheerleading World Championships

Hey, my name is Lalie and I’m fundraising for the 2024 Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando, Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sport.

The USASF and the IASF host the most prestigious and longest-held All Star World Championship event each year — The Cheerleading Worlds. More than 16,000 athletes representing top teams compete for top spots in 34 cheer and 23 dance divisions.

I have been selected to compete for a team in the Level 7 division, the highest level you can compete at, however I will face large costs for flights, accommodation, training facilities, uniform and competition entry, all of which are self funded. I will also be travelling to training for over 4 hours each week.

Previously I have competed in Acrobatic gymnastics from the age of 7 training 20 hours a week, unfortunately although I was committed to it during my whole childhood and throughout university I never competed internationally.

Therefore, since discovering cheerleading I’ve been training really hard in the hopes of getting to compete at the world championships, travelling over 4 hours to training each week for the past two years and funding it all myself. In 2022 I got selected to compete at worlds for the first time in the Level 5 division but never thought I would be given the opportunity to go again and compete at the highest level, which makes all the time and commitment worth it.

In July 2021 it was confirmed that the International Cheer Union became an International Olympic Committee member, and Cheerleading became an Olympic member sport, eligible for inclusion in future games but currently there is no funding for international athletes so we face huge costs.

I will be participating in fundraising events with my other team members and I’m also trying to get a second job around my full time career but I would be so grateful for some sponsorship to support me and help reduce my overall costs for getting to worlds.
