John is currently in hospice after a 6 year battle to survive cancer. It is still his wish to live, but the state of California allows a terminally ill patient to seek aid-in-dying medication when there is no hope left for successful medical treatment. The roadblock which was put into place May 25, has now been lifted, at least until the case is heard in court on June 29, which gives us this week to raise the money needed to purchase the medicine. Insurance does not cover it and it is quite expensive. If you have been wondering how you can help, this is it. It will be a comfort knowing we have the medication so John has an option.
