I have received an invitation to visit the Dominican Republic to learn more about Compassion International’s mission, vision, and purpose and how they affect the community around them.

This April, I am going on a Vision Trip to visit several of Compassion International’s care centers. Compassion International is a Christian charity dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through child sponsorships and donations, they empower local churches to provide individualized and holistic care to children in poverty so they are free to learn, grow, play, and dream.

My dad's company, PHOS Creative, sponsors 26 individual Compassion children and contributes 50% of its profits towards launching new care centers for women and children impacted by extreme poverty and sex trafficking. PHOS has funded the launch of eight Compassion Child Development Centers in Latin America, three of which are located in the Dominican Republic and two of which we will visit while on our trip.

On this Vision Trip, I hope to have meaningful conversations with the children and staff and to have the opportunity to support and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

I will visit church-based, Compassion-assisted child development centers to meet both the children and the staff. I can also ask questions and hear stories of how God has moved in their lives. During this time, I will also have an opportunity to grow closer to the team that I am going with.

I am raising $2,500 to cover the trip costs and to purchase gifts for the children at the care centers. Any funds raised beyond this amount will be used to help fund the next Compassion care center. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will help immensely as I try to invest in the lives of these children and their communities.
