My mom, Teresa, spent her entire life pouring out her heart for others. As a nurse, she held the hands of the sick, comforted families in crisis, and worked tirelessly to bring healing and hope. She has always been the one running to help, the one showing up with compassion, the one staying late to make sure her patients weren’t alone.

Now, in a cruel twist, the caregiver has become the one who needs care. Earlier this year, Mom suffered a devastating stroke. Overnight, our vibrant, strong, selfless mom lost her independence. She can no longer stand, walk, or care for herself. She depends on us for every daily need—bathing, dressing, meals, therapy, and even the most basic routines.

Her mind is fragile, often childlike, and yet her sweet spirit still shines through. We see glimpses of the woman who once worked double shifts to make sure others were cared for. It breaks our hearts that someone who spent her life serving now faces her hardest battle.

We are determined to give Mom the dignity, safety, and love she deserves, but the cost of full-time care is crushing. We are waiting on disability and aid, but in the meantime, the bills come fast and the need is daily. Your support will help us:

Teresa is more than her stroke. She was a wonderful nurse, devoted to her patients and respected by her peers. She loved her kids and bragged on them to anyone that would listen. And to anyone around her — family, friends, neighbors — she gave generously, often sacrificing her own comfort to make sure others had what they needed. Her life has always been marked by selflessness and compassion.
