Asking for help is never easy, but sometimes life throws multiple unexpected challenges your way all at once. For the past 13 years, I have called this community home. Recently, at 45 years old, I suffered a sudden heart attack and had to undergo a stent replacement. That emergency and the recovery that followed completely drained my savings just as I was navigating a difficult life transition and an employment search.
Given my family history—losing my brother to a heart attack at 46—this was a stark wake-up call, but it also completely derailed my ability to work for a stretch. Because that recovery kept me out of the workforce longer than anticipated, I fell behind on my rent and am now facing an eviction notice. I am actively working to secure a stable income that matches my professional background, but I urgently need community support to bridge the gap while I get back on my feet.
How the Funds Will Be Used:
$3,900: To cover back rent to stop the current eviction process.
$1,300: To secure September rent as a buffer while things finalize. $200 to account for any fees that gofundme charges.
Total Goal: $5,400
If you are in a position to contribute, any amount helps me secure my housing and breathe a little easier during this stressful time. If you cannot give financially, simply sharing this page would mean the world to me.
(A quick note: I am already in contact with channels trying to work through local assistance, so I'm not in need of resource number lists. However, if you personally know of a solid career opportunity or a company actually hiring for management/professional roles that aligns with my background, please feel free to DM me directly rather than posting in the comments.)
Thank you for your kindness, discretion, and support.
