Aloha North Shore Community,

If you've been around the North Shore Marketplace the past 20 years, chances are you may have seen or known of John Dotson. Maybe you've had your taxes prepared by him. The past couple of years, John has faced several health-related challenges where you may have seen large tumors on his neck. Over a year ago, he had multiple surgeries to have them removed, but they have since grown back. You also may have noticed that John hasn't been around the North Shore Marketplace in several months.

Unfortunately, John has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Salivary Gland Cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy. He is currently residing in a Hawaii Homeless Healthcare facility and is in good spirits. The tumors have shrunk some, and the cancer battle has been positive in that the cells are dormant to where he is stable.

John needs the North Shore Community's help with a one-time donation, so that he can repair his computer's hard drive and continue to do what he loves by serving his long-time customers and the North Shore Community this tax season. These much-needed repairs for him to continue his livelihood cost an estimated $2,500 between parts, repairs, and software upgrades.

With the amount of time he has been out of work due to his medical procedures and treatments, I'm humbly asking that we as a community go a little above this to support and assist with extra food, clothing, and necessities that he may need. I've set a goal of $5,000 that I hope we can bless this man with as he has been part of the community for so long.
