Whittier is more than a school. It is a home and a community where families care for one another. Right now, many Whittier families are facing sudden and frightening disruptions in our neighborhood that have created urgent needs and deep uncertainty.

Nearly half of our students are currently enrolled in online learning as a result of what is happening in our community. Many families are limiting their movement or not leaving home at all, making it difficult to access groceries, pay rent, and meet other basic needs.

As parents, caregivers, and community members, we are coming together to support Whittier families during this time. Funds raised will provide direct support for essentials such as rent assistance, food delivery, and other basic needs so families can remain safe, housed, and together.

When families are under stress, our entire school community feels it. Supporting families means supporting students’ ability to learn and thrive.

As an IB school, taking action is a core part of our educational experience. Our strength has always been our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure Whittier families are supported and not facing these challenges alone. We will share updates on how funds are distributed.
