To the community of Powell River, Texada Island, friends and family across the globe

We are deeply saddened to announce that our dearest friends Sophie and Graeme Macdonald went through the most heart wrenching tragedy losing their baby boy Kaladin Oak on Thursday August 5th, 2021.

Sophie and Graeme are pillars in our community and gave birth to the magical, happy, soulful boy on June 8th, 2020.

With this tragedy comes the necessary grieving process. So many people, near and far, have been sending their love and want to contribute in whatever way possible. The Macdonald’s are surrounded by friends, family and prayer. Food and physical presence is abundant as we prepare for the ceremony and how their next chapter is going to look for them.

Having time to process and grieve is very important to heal and stay healthy as they courageously move forward in building a family and farm.

To relieve financial pressure, we are calling on community generosity to help them through this difficult time.

Any contributions would be instrumental in weathering this storm.
