Community Support for Sibley Family's Need
Donation protected
My name is Rose and I am a former principal of Sibley Elementary.
We're raising funds for a hardworking local family facing an unexpected and overwhelming financial burden.
Their teenage son was doing what many older siblings do: helping his family. Each morning, he brought his younger brother to Sibley school because both of their parents do not have driver’s licenses. The teen stepped up to make sure his brother made it to school.
Unfortunately, while driving one morning, the brakes on their vehicle failed. In an effort to avoid harming anyone, he swerved and hit a city lamp post. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. But now, the city is charging the family **\$1,074** for damage to the pole—an amount they cannot afford.
This young man was trying to do the right thing in an impossible situation. The family is doing their best under incredibly difficult circumstances. They need our help to get through this moment without falling deeper into hardship.
All funds raised will go directly to covering the city’s charge. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a difference.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Let’s show this family that their community stands with them.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
