Fundraiser for Scott Jones
On September 19th Scott was hit and critically injured in a car accident on Prospect Ave near Cuyamaca in Santee, while making a delivery of health and medical supplies to the homeless
Scott Jones has been collecting and bringing clothing, medical supplies, and other critical items to the homeless for many years. Mostly on his own time, and for many years on his own dime. Selflessly getting these supplies to people that do not have access to these critical items. Many times, late at night and in less than favorable, and sometimes dangerous conditions.
Scott is going to need a lot of support in the months to come as he tries to adjust to his situation. Many things that will not be covered by insurance, will need to change in his environment to help him through this transitional period.
Read the account of the accident below and please donate if you can.
On Thursday September 19th around noon, Scott Jones was working delivering supplies to the homeless on Prospect near Cuyamaca St in Santee. He was retrieving supplies out of the back of his vehicle parked at the side of the road, when a driver, suffering from a diabetic episode passed out at the wheel of his vehicle and crashed into several cars and hitting Scott at the back of his vehicle. His leg was nearly amputated at the scene, along with many other injuries. Thanks to the efforts of first responders, and surgeons, Scott survived. His leg was amputated below the knee in the first emergency surgery, and after five additional surgeries, he is on the slow road to recovery. With more surgeries and medical care needs in his future, he can use all the help he can get from the community, in his time of need. Please donate if you can.
