Hi everyone,
My name is Emilee, and I am a close friend of Rod. Most of you know Rod as the heart and soul of the party—the man whose energy fills a room and whose compassion knows no bounds. In 2020, when the world was at its most uncertain, Rod stepped up to start "See A Need, Serve A Need" with SoCo Church. He spent his days making sure everyone else was taken care of.
Today, Rod is the one with the need.
Rod’s journey began on November 13th with what we hoped would be a standard surgery. Unfortunately, complications set in almost immediately. Since that date, doctors have already had to go back in twice to clean out aggressive infections.
Rod is back in the hospital now, facing an incredibly scary reality: the surgeons are currently fighting to save his foot. He is awaiting further surgeries, and the uncertainty of what comes next is heavy.
For those of us who love him, the hardest part hasn't just been the medical news—it’s been seeing the toll this has taken on him. The man we know as the "life of the party" has spent the last two months in constant, grueling pain. He is exhausted, scared, and for the first time, he feels defeated.
We cannot let him fight this alone. Between the mounting hospital bills from multiple surgeries and the fact that he has been unable to work for months, the financial burden is becoming a mountain. We want to clear that mountain out of his way so Rod can focus entirely on saving his leg and finding his spark again.
How you can help:
Donate: Any amount helps cover medical bills and daily living expenses while he is hospitalized.
Share: Please share this link and mention Rod’s "See A Need, Serve A Need" legacy.
Pray: Please keep Rod in your prayers as he heads into these next critical surgeries.
Rod has spent years being the hands and feet of his community. Now, let’s show him that his community is ready to carry him.
With love and gratitude,
Emilee
