Help Paul and Vinh Recover from Back-to-Back Vendor Robberies
On the weekend of April 26th–27th, tragedy struck two beloved Bay Area trading card community members.
On Saturday, April 26th, longtime Pokémon vendor Paul had approximately $10,000 worth of inventory stolen straight out of his car. Thieves broke in and took everything. This was Paul’s first show back after taking a year off to stay home with his newborn — he returned to reconnect with the community he loves, only to be robbed and left devastated.
The very next day, Sunday, April 27th, another vendor, Vinh, was robbed at gunpoint, losing $5,000 in cash. Vinh is a newer vendor in the Bay Area scene, and this traumatic experience has shaken him deeply.
Both of these incidents occurred at the East Bay Card Show at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Concord, CA. It’s clear now that people are targeting our community — watching, waiting, and preying on vendors who are just trying to do what they love.
Paul and Vinh were unfortunately the ones caught in the crosshairs.
We’re asking the community — vendors, collectors, friends, and anyone who believes in protecting what we’ve built — to come together and help these two individuals recover financially and emotionally.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, or simply share this page with your network, it all helps. Let’s show that the Bay Area card community stands strong when one of our own gets knocked down.
Thank you for your support.
