Community Support for Norris Schell's Funeral
Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the death of one of Detroit’s most beloved Hospitality Professionals, Norris Schell.
Norris was tragically killed in a house fire that cut short his life on Sunday, July 21st.
Our hearts are utterly broken, and we now know that everything in the home, including his financial paperwork, was destroyed, leaving us with nowhere to begin the funeral process.
We know Norris to be a single man who lived alone, and as his friends and family, we are now compelled to crowdfund to start the process of memorializing him and we need your help.
Norris was known throughout Detroit as a “Pillar of the Community”, as quoted by the Michigan Chronicle, while Dennis Archer Jr., Owner of Central Kitchen where he was most recently employed, called him a “Passionate Servant”.
Norris never met a stranger, and was a passionate “bell ringer” for the Hospitality Industry, and he believed that providing Exceptional Service was a fortitude of good manners.
The emotional devastation his family is now facing, as well as the significant financial burden of unexpected funeral expense, compels me to maneuver on their behalf.
Norris leaves behind his sister, Kim, and twin brother, Norman who must now begin to pick up the pieces of their family and move forward.
As a community, we have the opportunity to come together and support Norris’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Your generous donations will help alleviate the financial strain they are facing, allowing them to focus on grieving and healing without the added worry of financial instability.
Funds raised will go directly toward covering funeral expenses for Norris.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will count.
