Community Support for Ms. Darcie

Last Friday, on Ms. Darcie's ride home from work, she was struck by a car while on her bike. Thankfully, Darcie was wearing a helmet but she was hit hard and flew forward. She slid on her chin, breaking her jaw in several places and lost 6 teeth. Darcie was immediately rushed off to the ER and received 10 stitches on her outside skin and discovered that she fractured her jaw. She spent the night in the ER and has rubber bands currently holding her jaw in place. She will undoubtedly need dental work once her jaw heals and we will continue to learn more as the week progresses. 

Darcie is one of the most kind, most thoughtful, dedicated and nurturing humans we know. We are all praying for her and keeping Darcie in our thoughts as she stays home to recover this week. When I spoke with Darcie and her husband yesterday, I decided that organizing a GoFundMe to help offset the costs of her extremely high deductible ($3,500) and to help offer dental support for the future work she will need is the best thing we can do for their family at the moment. Darcie does not currently have dental insurance so if we can come together to help raise money for her, it will make a huge difference in her life.
