On Monday evening, August 19, 2024, our friend Marcelino was at the top of stairs in his home when two kittens ran beneath him. To avoid stepping on the kittens, he grabbed the stair banister for support. Unfortunately the banister broke and he fell over 10 feet.

He landed on his side and suffered six broken ribs (two of which are broken in two places), a fractured pelvis, and four fractured vertebrae.

It is going to be a long journey to recovery. Due to his injuries, Marcelino is unable to work during this time. All funds raised will support the cost of medical bills, loss of income and any additional expenses.

Our friend is dedicated to caring for his community and helps with food justice initiatives, mutual aid, and river justice cleanups. We hope our community can help support him during this time of healing.
