Mr. Kenneth Mitchell and Mrs. Annie Mitchell met as children in North Carolina and began their journey together in the mid-60s, moving to Washington, DC to build a new life and family.

Throughout their lives, they have helped countless family members, friends, coworkers, and those in need, guided by their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Several years ago, they returned to North Carolina to be closer to family. Annie built a greenhouse and planted trees in their new community, finding joy in flowers, plants, and a garden that attracted animals from near and far.

Fifteen years ago, Annie began experiencing early onset dementia, which progressed to Alzheimer's disease over the past seven years. Eight years ago, Kenneth retired after more than 55 years of work to care for Annie full-time. The cost of healthcare, home health care, and other medical expenses has deeply impacted the golden years they had hoped for after a lifetime of saving for retirement.

Annie is now in hospice, and the family needs help to cover end-of-life expenses when God takes her home. Kenneth has been a devoted husband, ensuring Annie's daily care with support from their children, grandchildren, family friends, and church community.

Many families find themselves in this position, where one spouse is left to manage with depleted resources and overwhelming medical expenses. The remaining spouse faces the burden of continuing on with less. This fundraiser aims to help Kenneth and Annie's family with end-of-life expenses and debts, so one soul can be put to rest and another can continue with the support of friends, family, and the community.
