Hey everybody, my name is Brett Douglas and I am living the ultimate blue-collar nightmare. I'm a landscape contractor that has gotten a serious injury. I broke my 11th rib and I'm in serious trouble for the next 2 months to try to work and pay my bills. I am stubborn; I will actually be going to work tomorrow to try to do what I can.
I have always tried to be there for others, and now this nightmare is happening to me where I need to try to recover but at the same time, I need to try to work and pay my bills.
Any type of help would be a small security net. I am still going to work, but I don't know how much I can get accomplished today now that I'm injured.
When you Google search a broken rib, they think you're going to be off for 6 to 8 weeks. That is not possible when you work with your hands.
I know that if I keep working and fracture it more, then it's going to be a longer recovery.
But I will put my faith in the Lord and my friends that if anybody has the ability to help a small amount, I would love to repay the kindness. If you ever need my help, I'll always be there for you. I hope that people have seen that I've been willing to help people in this community for the last 20 years. The only other time I've been desperate like this is when I had COVID, and it was the same situation. The community rallied around me, so I'm embarrassed to even ask for any help right now. But if everybody has seen my post for the last 3 months, landscaping is basically dried up, and we have been very blessed to just barely scrape by.
But I love each and every one of you. Even prayers and sharing would be amazing, and let's all remember the faith of a mustard seed. And thank you to that one great friend that forced me to swallow my pride and post this.
You have always been there for me, and I so admire your family.
