We are reaching out on behalf of our parents, Annie and Benji Brotherton.

Last week our mom, Annie, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. As you can imagine, this news has come as a shock to our family, and we are still processing what the road ahead will look like.

Many people in the Copper Country know Annie and Benji not just as nurses, but as the kind of people who are always ready to jump in and help. Between the two of them, they have spent a combined 79 years caring for patients at Portage, Aspirus, and Canal View. Over the years, we’ve lost count of the number of times someone in the community has stopped us to share a story about how Mom or Dad cared for them or a loved one during a difficult time.

Now it’s our turn to support them.

In the coming weeks, Annie will begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments in Wausau. This means frequent travel and time away from work for both of them while they focus on treatment and recovery.

Several people have already reached out asking how they can help, and we are so grateful for that kindness. This is one way we hope to support Annie and Benji as they face medical expenses, travel costs, and lost income during this time.

Even if you're not able to donate, sharing helps us reach the many people whose lives Annie and Benji have touched over the years.
