Hello, I'm Christine Steadman, a childhood friend of Alex's. I set up this fund to support her and her family as she navigates the grief of losing her son, Dylan, on November 11, 2024.

The death of a child is an event no parent should have to experience. She and her husband also have a daughter and welcomed twin girls in July 2024. Due to the energy and financial means required to care for herself and her family during this time, I'm hopeful this fund will help to cover the cost of therapy and time out of work as well as essential items. In moments like this, we all need the support of community to carry us through.

"My heart has never ached this kind of ache. I don’t even know where to begin in writing this post about my baby boy. The boy who made me a mommy. The boy who showed me what love truly is. The boy who had the purest and most precious of hearts. My Dylan was my whole world and I can’t believe that this is real, my mind just can’t accept it. Monday night, he took his own life here at our house. I can’t understand and I would do anything to turn back time and make him see how loved he was by SO MANY PEOPLE. The incredible future he had ahead of him. I’m overwhelmed and blown away at the generosity and outpouring of love we have received in the past few days. Dylan truly had no idea how special and impactful he was. My mommy heart is shattered, broken with grief that he’s not here to see the difference he’s made in so many lives.

To my boy. To my sunshine. Mommy loves you so much and I can’t wait to hold you in my arms once again, kiss your face.

Rest now, in the comforting arms of Jesus, whose love for you outshines all love."
