Hi, my name is Kari and I am raising money for the Community Sterilisation Campaign, an organisation in Mauritius run entirely by volunteers with the sole purpose of dealing with the increasing overpopulation of stray animals on the island.
C.S.C. organises free sterilisations in communities that need it the most. Many villages cannot afford to sterilise their pets or have the means of transport to go to veterinary clinics. This results in numerous dogs and cats and their litters being abandoned in sugar-cane fields, beaches and parking lots.
By using local village halls and bringing veterinary teams to the community, they are not only sterilising the stray population and pets of low-income communities, but also educating people in animal welfare.
Since their first sterilisation campaign on 29 June 2021, C.S.C. has sterilised over 800 cats and dogs, helping to control the population.
The only solution to reduce the amount of stray dogs and cats in Mauritius and prevent animal cruelty is through sterilization.
C.S.C relies solely on donations for funding.
Thank you for your support!
