Community Steps Up After Fire Tragedy
Donation protected
On July 23, 2025, a local family from our Colonial Beach community experienced a devastating apartment fire in Dahlgren. They lost everything—clothes, shoes, personal belongings, and household essentials. The only things they had left were the clothes on their backs.
This family includes hardworking members of our community—one son is a lead cook at Drift and Muse, and another is a manager at McDonald’s on the beach. These are people many of us know and work with. Right now, they need our help more than ever.
We are raising funds to help them replace essential items like clothing, shoes, toiletries, bedding, and other basic needs. Every dollar will go directly to the family to help them begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Thank you for showing up for our neighbors during this incredibly difficult time.
Clothing Sizes Needed (if you’d rather donate items):
• Tanasia Johnson – 18 pants (XXL), XL–2XL shirt, 9–10 women’s shoes, 8 men’s shoes
• Essie Porter – 34 pants, large shirts, size 11 shoes
• Eziah Grell – 28x30 pants, small–medium shirt, 9–9.5 men’s shoes
• Cheyenne – Medium shirt, 6–7 pants, 8.5 women’s shoes
Thank you for your kindness and support. ❤️
