My name is Godfrey Muwulya, am trying to build a school in my community as a way of giving back This project aims at primarily educating the learners of more than 800 pupils within

the various locations surrounding the area. This project will primarily train learners

aged between 3 and 15 years. It intends to provide opportunities for pupil

experimentation involve participation by parents and teachers and utilize partnerships

with the community in trying to champion the development initiatives around the

proposed location for the project.

Such sessions will provide hands on opportunities for pupils, along with their teachers,

to explore the use of modern learning aids and instruments from a team of

experienced teachers that has already been assembled to kick-start the project.

Majority of the children are at the risk of a project failure, due to high cost of education

in the Uganda. The project shall target pupils from high poverty homes and those that

are most vulnerable.

It has also been noted that the education of vulnerable children in Uganda has been

given limited attention, yet there is a high rate of school drop-outs among vulnerables

at primary levels.

On closer examination of records in Uganda, preliminary research has shown that

learners tend to drop out of school too early and hence do not get many opportunities

to continue with their education because of a number of reasons compared to the

others with opportunities. On several occasions, The New Vision has reported about

the severe increase in school drop outs.

2.2 Lack of support for the girl child education in the area

Several schools have been established in the area but none is primarily focusing on

the Montessori system of Education. Majority of these are serving Ugandan curriculum

which doesn’t give a chance to have access to the social and health amenities that

would deserve a girl a project establishment. It is thus hoped that this will be a model

girls training a project that will go deeper in addressing the challenges of increasing

rate of girl child dropout rate in schools.
